Rose of Jericho is a long established manufacturer and supplier of materials used for the decoration and conservative repair of traditional buildings. Our products are used throughout the U.K on buildings from cottages to cathedrals. We supply both trade and retail customers.

Rose of Jericho has a long-established reputation for manufacturing limewashes and distempers; emulsions; flat oil and eggshell paints. All our paints are hand-made in Dorset and available in an exciting range of colours from the historic to the contemporary; and the highest quality earth and traditional artists powder pigments are used in all of them.

We slake and stock a wide range of various types of matured lime putty, hydraulic limes, ready mixed lime mortars, haired and finish plasters and external renders, as well as sheltercoats and other conservation materials.

We are expert analysts of historic mortars, with an international reputation. We hold a national aggregates library, and we can determine the precise constituents and replicate any mortar.

Most materials are supplied from stock, but orders should be placed by phone, as some mortars and paints are mixed to order. They can be collected from our works at Holywell, nr Dorchester, Dorset, or supplied by mail order nationwide, on a next day delivery service.

Projects we are involved with this year include the Temple of Justice, Washington State, USA, the Parliament Building, Ottawa, Canada and the recently completed medieval Agneten Cloister in Belgium.  UK projects include works at the Tower of London, Hampton Court and Kew Palaces, and Cowdray Castle Ruins in Sussex.  Projects starting include Castle Drogo and Torre Abbey, both in Devon.  We are very fortunate to have longstanding close relationships with many builders, in particular St Blaise Ltd, one of the very finest of Conservation Builders, and many of our materials have been developed over the years on joint projects. Our clients include Historic Royal Palaces, the National Trust and English Heritage, but we are just as interested in Britains churches, cottages, townhouses, and farmhouses, as we are in these prestigious buildings.

Our colours are now also produced in modern paint types which are used for the decoration of more recent and new buildings, and we have recently supplied all the paint for the brand new Hotel Seattle on Brighton marina, amongst other exciting new-build projects.

In 2001, Rose of Jericho moved to newly converted farm buildings at Horchester Farm, Holywell, on the main A37 Yeovil to Dorchester road. We are 10 miles north of Dorchester, and well signposted. Here we have vastly superior premises with much larger production and storage facilities. Customers are very welcome to visit and look around. The offices and showroom are (of course!) painted with limewash and distempers.

Our showroom is available for customers to see actual colours and large paint boards can be viewed and colour combinations considered.
