DESCRIPTION:

A high quality traditional distemper primer based on a gelatin binder for use on previously un-painted porous plaster, stone, and soft brick. A permeable primer suitable for use in older buildings.

CONSIDERATIONS

Claircollee is an environmentally friendly product made with natural sustainable ingredients. It contains no VOCs, no petrochemical based ingredients, and no lead. Water-based.

USAGE/PURPOSE

To be used on porous surfaces prior to the application of Rose of Jericho distempers.
For interior use only.
Not to be used as a primer for other paint types

SHELF LIFE

Limited. (12 weeks). Store in a cool environment. Best used within 4 weeks of purchase.

AVAILABILITY:

2.5 and 5 litre cans. Direct from Rose of Jericho. Claircollee is mixed to order.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:

Composition
Calcium carbonate in gelatin dispersion.

Solvent
Water.

Performance
Drying: In good drying conditions. Touch dry in 4 hours.
Allow 24 hours before the application of Rose of Jericho distemper.

Limitations
Do not apply in temperatures below 5ºC or in damp or humid conditions.

PREPARATION:

Ensure Claircolle is within shelf-life period.
All surfaces should be sound, dry, and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contamination. Any algae or mould must be treated with a fungicide and making good and filling should be carried out with a material appropriate to the substrate.
It is recommended that trials are carried out to ensure that the surface is suitable for application.

APPLICATION:

Method
Best applied by brush. Cannot be spray applied. Brushes and equipment should be cleaned with clean soapy water immediately after use.

Thinning
Claircollee is temperature sensitive and will thicken in cold conditions. If paint has thickened, it is preferable to stand the can in a bucket of hot water rather than dilute. Only if absolutely necessary dilute by no more than 10% (by volume) with clean water. One coat normally recommended.

Coverage
c. 10 m2/litre/coat on smooth surface of average porosity.

Cleaning
Brushes and equipment should be cleaned with clean, fresh water immediately after use.
