DESCRIPTION: |
Dry Pulverised Fuel Ash is prepared to comply with BS3892: Part 2: Grade A, and is used as a pozzolan especially in lime grouts. Pozzolans improve the strength and durability of lime mortars. Pozzolans are defined as materials which, though not cementitious in themselves, contain constituents which will combine with lime at ordinary temperatures in the presence of water to form stable insoluble compounds possessing hydraulic properties. | ||||||||||||||

PFA is extracted from the precipitator hoppers of coal fired boilers and ground to a fine powder with a bulk density of 800kg/m3. It is low in sulphate. Typical analysis 0.4% (as SO3). |

Fine powders of nuisance dust classification. Use
gloves, overalls, facemasks and respiratory protection as appropriate to

OBSERVATIONS: |
To be mixed with lime mortar immediately before use. Add at 5%, 7.5%,
or 10% by volume to mortar depending on the particular circumstances.
